Anduril has been selected by Saab to manufacture solid rocket motors (SRMs) for the Ground-Launched Small Diameter Bomb (GLSDB), developed in collaboration with Boeing.
The new SRM from Anduril will replace the aging M26 rocket motor, delivering improved safety and more efficient production methods for the GLSDB system.
Anduril has already begun development and qualification, with full-scale production expected by 2026. The company is also investing $75 million to expand its McHenry, Mississippi facility, set to be operational as early as next month, to scale up SRM production capabilities.
This expansion follows a $14.3 million funding boost under the Defense Production Act and will leverage advanced automation to accelerate manufacturing and cut costs.
In addition, Anduril recently conducted a static test fire of its newly developed 21-inch hypersonic rocket motor for the US Navy’s Standard Missile program.
