Saab is promoting its Blekinge-class A26 submarine, which it describes as the world’s first fifth-generation battle submarine.
The A26 is designed to operate along the seabed and deploy UUVs, swimmer delivery vehicles, and a range of underwater weapons and ISR systems.
Featuring an extremely low acoustic signature, the submarine is engineered to navigate heavily monitored waters such as the Baltic Sea, acting as a covert surveillance hub capable of remaining largely undetected by hostile sonar.
