Pen Aviation, an established UAV solutions provider active in both France and Asia, has signed an extended partnership agreement with Safran Electronics & Defense. This builds on their 2024 Memorandum of Understanding aimed at enhancing UAV capabilities through strategic cooperation.

Under this new agreement, the companies are expanding collaboration to include Safran’s newly introduced lightweight airborne electro-optical systems. Pen Aviation will serve as the initial launch partner, integrating these smaller systems alongside the already-used Euroflir™ 410.

Pen Aviation, which operates out of Malaysia and France, produces a wide spectrum of drones weighing between 20 kg and 1,360 kg. With previous success using the Euroflir™ 410, the extended agreement shows Pen Aviation’s clear interest in adopting Safran’s next-gen compact, high-performance optronic equipment for its UAVs.

The agreement is a strategic milestone for Safran Electronics & Defense as it strengthens its foothold in the rapidly growing UAV surveillance sector. It opens further commercial opportunities while reinforcing its reputation as a reliable surveillance technology provider.

Pen Aviation demonstrates its focus on delivering cutting-edge technology to the UAV market, while Safran uses this alliance to accelerate its expansion in the Asian defense and aerospace sector—blending innovation with regional self-reliance.
