Saudi Arabia is in discussions with Leonardo to broaden their cooperation by producing helicopter components locally. The partnership would also cover building expertise in maintenance and repair, plus manufacturing spare parts for engines, drones, and navigation systems. Leonardo has supplied Saudi Arabia for over four decades, delivering fighter aircraft, avionics, surveillance, naval, and space systems. The initiative to localize helicopter production fits with Vision 2030’s goal to diversify the economy and reduce oil dependence by developing local industry.
