South Korea has rolled out the Ghost Commander II, a new naval carrier concept built to seamlessly integrate both manned and unmanned systems under a single operational framework.

Designed by Hanwha Ocean, the vessel is set to transform the nation’s maritime strategy by supporting crewed aircraft and an extensive mix of uncrewed air, surface, and underwater vehicles.

According to lead designer Jeon Seoungbaem, the platform’s design is reminiscent of China’s Type 076 amphibious ship and is tailored for ocean-based reconnaissance and surveillance roles.
