To strengthen its domestic mission capabilities, Denmark’s Home Guard has taken delivery of two De Havilland Twin Otter short takeoff and landing aircraft under an eight-year lease agreement. The patrol-configured planes will support surveillance, search, and assistance operations, including tasks coordinated with the European border agency Frontex. These new aircraft will replace two Britten-Norman Defenders leased in 2015, which are nearing retirement after completing around 6,800 flight hours.
