To bolster its mine countermeasure capabilities, Sweden has signed a 190 million SEK ($17 million) deal with Teledyne Marine for the supply of “Gavia” autonomous underwater vehicles. The agreement, effective until 2028 with potential extensions, will see the AUVs deployed by the Swedish Navy for seabed mapping and generating detailed sonar imagery to assist in locating underwater objects.
