Taiwan has received US State Department approval for the purchase of air defense and radar systems valued at $1.94 billion.
The deal covers NASAMS missile systems as well as AN/TPS-77 and AN/TPS-78 long-range radars.
Finalization of the sale depends on US Congressional consent.
