The U.S. Navy has awarded Textron Systems a $394.2 million contract to construct nine more Landing Craft Air Cushion 100-class (LCAC 100) vessels. This order follows an initial contract in August 2023 and a subsequent agreement in July 2024 for materials and preliminary work to support the development of up to five LCAC 100s. Construction of the nine hovercraft will take place in New Orleans, Louisiana, along with various other sites across the country. Textron is expected to complete the project by September 2030.
