The UK is investing £300 million ($402.4 million) to modernize flight training for Royal Navy and RAF crews, the Ministry of Defence announced.

Bristol-based Ascent Flight Training will lead the effort, which includes new facilities and high-tech simulators for training on various aircraft types. The goal is to increase crew training to around 140 personnel per year—four times the previous capacity.

Simulators will focus on Future ISTAR and Rear Crew roles, with training hubs set up at RNAS Culdrose and RAF Cranwell. Site development is being handled by Babcock, Ascent’s parent company, under a £70 million ($93.8 million) contract.
