Naval Group has marked a key milestone with the launch of the third Kimon-class frigate for Greece at its shipyard in Lorient, France. The warship, named HS Formion (F-603), made its initial water contact, signaling the transition to its final outfitting phase before handover to the Hellenic Navy.
The frigate was outfitted with a steel integrated mast and the advanced Panoramic Sensors and Intelligence Module (PSIM). This system enables full 360-degree situational awareness and bolsters the vessel’s command and surveillance capabilities at sea. The delivery of the Formion is part of a broader effort by Greece to modernize its naval fleet with state-of-the-art combat systems.
