Textron Systems has unveiled the “Tsunami” family of autonomous surface vessels tailored for unmanned maritime missions conducted by the US military and allied forces. Capable of operating in Sea State 4 conditions—where wave heights range from 4.1 to 8.2 feet (1.25 to 2.5 meters)—these drones offer operational ranges beyond 1,000 nautical miles (1,852 kilometers/1,151 miles). The vessels are available in hull lengths of 24, 25, and 28 feet (7.3, 7.6, and 8.5 meters), with a payload capacity of up to 1,000 pounds (454 kilograms).
