Egypt has received approval from the U.S. State Department for the purchase of AN/TPS-78 long-range radar systems in a deal valued at $304 million. The request includes an unspecified quantity of the Northrop Grumman-produced radars, as well as related components such as KIV-78 encryption devices, GPS systems featuring selective availability anti-spoofing modules, and a range of spare and repair parts.
