During Talisman Sabre 2025—the largest bilateral military exercise between Australia and the United States—U.S. Marines from Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 363 (VMM-363), under Marine Rotational Force–Darwin 25.3, executed a strategic aerial resupply mission on July 16, 2025, in Australia’s Northern Territory. Utilizing an MV‑22B Osprey, the unit successfully delivered M142 HIMARS ammunition pods, demonstrating enhanced interoperability and rapid logistical support for dispersed ground artillery units operating in contested environments.

The MV‑22B Osprey, developed by Bell Boeing, is a tiltrotor aircraft that merges helicopter-like vertical lift with the speed and range of a fixed-wing platform. Capable of carrying up to 9,000 kg internally or 6,800 kg externally, the Osprey can cruise at speeds exceeding 430 km/h and fly at altitudes higher than traditional rotorcraft. These capabilities make it exceptionally effective for delivering critical supplies into austere or inaccessible terrain, supporting time-sensitive military operations.
