The US Navy is launching a new plan to leverage data and AI as weapons, enabling rapid conversion of sensor feeds into battlefield tactics, system enhancements, and timely software improvements to meet the demands of today’s conflicts.

Stuart Wagner, the Navy’s chief digital and AI officer, explained that the effort is focused on removing barriers that delay the flow of critical information from platforms such as ships, drones, and aircraft to analysts and developers, and back into combat use.
