Elbit Systems of Israel will debut its latest infrared missile warning system, PAWS-2 (HR), during the Paris Air Show, scheduled from June 16 to 22. The system represents a significant upgrade in aerial threat detection technology.
The PAWS-2 High-Resolution variant features a next-generation cooled mid-wave infrared sensor capable of capturing images at more than five megapixels. This boosts defensive capabilities for military jets, helicopters, and transport aircraft operating in high-risk areas.
The passive system offers early warning for surface-to-air and air-to-air missiles, including MANPADS. It enhances aircraft survivability through long-range detection, pinpointing missile launch locations, improving threat identification, and minimizing false alarms for quicker, more accurate countermeasures.
