SRC, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to defense R&D, announced it will supply a range of advanced counter-unmanned aerial system (C-UAS) technologies to Qatar through a landmark $1 billion foreign military sales deal arranged by the U.S. government. This represents the first international export of the U.S. Army’s LIDS (Low, Slow, Small Unmanned Aircraft System Integrated Defeat System), positioning SRC as a key player in counter-drone capabilities on the global stage.
LIDS is designed to detect, track, classify, and neutralize small drones, which pose a growing threat in today’s conflict environments. Under the contract, SRC will provide advanced sensor and electronic warfare technologies to enhance fixed-site defense and deliver real-time threat awareness and interception for the first time in an international setting. The sale underscores a growing demand for proven C-UAS systems to protect critical assets.
The LIDS platform delivers quick drone identification and engagement while minimizing collateral risk to nearby troops and infrastructure. With its open architecture, LIDS integrates easily with new detection and defeat technologies, ensuring future adaptability. Its modular structure allows it to be deployed in both fixed and mobile missions, making it versatile for battlefield commanders worldwide.
