Arquus and Daimler Truck have formed a strategic alliance to develop and supply new military trucks for the French Army, targeting the modernization of its logistics fleet.
Announced Thursday, the partnership will leverage both companies’ expertise across vehicle design, production, sales, and service. The agreement arrives amid Europe’s increased defense spending and rising concerns about reducing reliance on U.S. military suppliers. Both firms stressed their local manufacturing footprint—Arquus is fully based in France, while Daimler Truck has a facility near the French border.
Arquus, part of the John Cockerill group, produces the majority of the French Army’s wheeled vehicle fleet and is a key player in armored mobility and systems integration. Daimler Truck adds industrial scale and global expertise, with key plants in Germany and France.
Leaders from both sides underscored their shared vision and compatibility, positioning the partnership as a meaningful step toward strengthening the defense readiness of both countries. Production will be split across Arquus’s sites in Garchizy and Limoges and Daimler’s facilities in Wörth am Rhein and Molsheim.
The companies also emphasized that the collaboration will support national industry and preserve jobs—a priority as European defense investments inject new momentum into the regional automotive sector.
