Teledyne FLIR Defense has introduced a trio of high-definition vision systems designed to enhance vehicle sensing and provide comprehensive 360-degree situational awareness for military platforms operating in demanding battlefield environments.

The company’s vehicle vision suite consists of the ThermoVision Situational Awareness HD (SA90-HD), ThermoVision Driver Vision HD (DV55-HD), and the MilSight LIRC III thermal imaging system.

The SA90-HD is a compact electro-optical/infrared sensor that delivers low-latency video to improve navigation and accelerate crew response times. By combining thermal and color imagery, the system enables operators to identify threats in daylight, darkness, adverse weather, and smoke-filled conditions. Its 90-degree field of view provides close-range coverage while maintaining visibility regardless of turret or vehicle movement.

For drivers, the DV55-HD offers a dual-sensor, forward-looking camera with 1280p EO/IR imaging capability across a 55-degree field of view. Sensor fusion technology enhances situational awareness and target recognition in daytime, low-light, and nighttime operations, helping crews navigate difficult terrain and identify potential hazards.

Completing the portfolio is the MilSight LIRC III, a lightweight thermal sight featuring selectable 10-degree wide and 2-degree narrow viewing modes. Weighing less than 9 kilograms, the system supports Ethernet-based ultra-low-latency video transmission and includes 2x and 4x electronic zoom functions. Designed primarily for infantry fighting vehicles, it incorporates advanced digital imaging capabilities to support long-range observation.

All three systems were unveiled at Eurosatory 2026 in Paris and are now being offered to both military and commercial customers.
