State-owned defense group Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI) has joined forces with Amentum UK and International to strengthen its land systems maintenance, repair, overhaul, and upgrade (MROU) capacity.
The partnership aims to position SAMI as the national leader in land combat system MROU by developing business processes and applying international best practices to support growing domestic needs.
The collaboration is expected to create employment opportunities, expand the local defense industrial base, and transfer advanced know-how to Saudi professionals.
Supporting Riyadh’s Vision 2030 agenda, the program contributes to the goal of localizing more than 50% of defense expenditure by the decade’s end.
Among the platforms already maintained by SAMI are the Al-Faris 8-400, Al-Kaser, and Al-Mansour APCs; the Al-Masmak and Tuwaiq MRAPs; and the Ashibl light armored vehicles.
