Dedrone by Axon, a US-based counter-drone specialist, has joined forces with Germany’s TYTAN Technologies to bolster NATO’s airspace security against evolving drone threats.

The partnership integrates Dedrone’s AI-powered airspace monitoring suite with TYTAN’s autonomous interceptor drones, forming a comprehensive counter-unmanned aircraft system (C-UAS) capable of engaging targets ranging from small commercial UAVs to advanced Group 3 military platforms.

Dedrone’s Tracker.AI platform, already deployed in over 30 countries, has logged more than 800 million drone detections by fusing radar, RF, optical, and acoustic inputs into a unified situational picture. TYTAN’s interceptors add a rapid kinetic engagement capability, enabling NATO operators to transition from detection to neutralization within seconds.

The collaboration reflects NATO’s expanding investment in drone defense, driven by conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East, where inexpensive UAVs have repeatedly disrupted military and critical infrastructure.

Across Europe, efforts are intensifying: Germany has tasked Hensoldt with upgrading counter-drone networks at bases and airports, France has committed $600 million to air defense and anti-drone systems, and the EU is planning a “drone wall” along its eastern frontier—linking sensors, jammers, and interceptors into a coordinated detection grid.
