India to Locally Produce Israel’s PULS Rocket Launcher Under New Nibe-Elbit Deal

In a major step toward defense industrial collaboration, Nibe Limited has entered into an agreement with Elbit Systems to manufacture the PULS multiple rocket launcher (MRL) in India. The partnership involves a full transfer of technology and encompasses production for both Indian and international clients.

This move represents a milestone for India’s defense sector, marking the first production of a foreign-designed MRL system within the country. The collaboration enhances India’s artillery capabilities and opens up new opportunities in the global defense export market.

The PULS system is considered more versatile and capable than India’s indigenous Pinaka MRL, which was developed by the DRDO. While the Pinaka’s extended-range variants are still in development, with future versions aiming for a 300 km range, the PULS already supports a mix of munitions and long-range strike capabilities. It can fire 122mm, 160mm, and 306mm rockets, as well as tactical ballistic missiles like the Predator Hawk.

Built with a modular and universal launch platform, PULS can be mounted on various chassis types (4×4, 6×6, 8×8) and is compatible with country-specific fire-control systems, ensuring integration with existing battle management infrastructures.
