KNDS France has entered a partnership with Athens-based Metlen Energy & Metals to locally produce the “Philoctetes” armored infantry fighting vehicle for the Hellenic Army. This initiative stems from a 2022 plan to establish a new Greek armored vehicle fleet derived from the French 8×8 VBCI platform co-developed by KNDS and Arquus. As part of the deal, KNDS will transfer critical expertise related to the VBCI Mark 2’s aluminum armor and hull construction to Metlen, supporting Greece’s production needs and broader Franco-Greek industrial cooperation for future European exports.
