U.S.-based L3Harris has partnered with Italy’s ELT Group to establish the first multi-sensor test facility for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) operations in Italy — the first of its kind outside the United States.

The new center aims to bolster defense capabilities and mission readiness for Italy and allied nations. It will specifically support the Joint Airborne Multi-Mission Multi-Sensor System (JAMMS) and the EA-37B Compass Call electronic warfare aircraft programs. Both platforms are derived from the Gulfstream G550 airframe.

Earlier this month, Italy awarded L3Harris a $300 million contract for the delivery of two G550 aircraft outfitted with advanced electromagnetic warfare systems. L3Harris is collaborating with BAE Systems on the project, which marks the first U.S.-approved international sale of the EA-37B platform, according to the announcement.
