In a strategic move to advance autonomous naval capabilities, Lockheed Martin Ventures has partnered with Rhode Island-based startup HavocAI to fast-track the development of medium unmanned surface vessels (mUSVs) for the U.S. military.
These crewless drone boats are being designed to carry weapons and perform missions independently, providing a safer and more cost-effective method of projecting power in maritime environments.
The collaboration will leverage Lockheed’s expertise in weapons integration alongside HavocAI’s cutting-edge autonomous software technology.
