General Atomics Aeronautical Systems (GA-ASI) has entered into a collaboration with Calidus Aerospace to co-produce MQ-9B remotely piloted aircraft and Gambit Collaborative Combat Aircraft in the United Arab Emirates.
Formalized through a memorandum of understanding, the agreement establishes a framework for joint activities covering airframe manufacturing, final assembly, testing, flight operational acceptance, and command-and-control systems integration.
GA-Intelligence will also support the effort, contributing expertise in battle management and operational software integration.
The partnership reflects GA-ASI’s broader push to expand its international industrial footprint through strategic collaborations.
In a recent initiative, the company signed an MoU with Qatar-based Barzan Holdings to develop advanced battle management software aimed at improving theater-level situational awareness and intelligence processing.
That agreement combines GA-ASI’s intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance capabilities with GA-Intelligence’s data analytics platforms to enable faster and more informed decision-making in complex operational environments.
In February 2025, GA-ASI also partnered with CAE under a long-term agreement to develop and manufacture next-generation mission training systems for the MQ-9B SkyGuardian.
Another notable 2025 collaboration saw GA-ASI and South Korea’s Hanwha Aerospace agree to pursue joint development and production of the Gray Eagle Short Takeoff and Landing unmanned aircraft.
