PGZ and BAE Systems have signed an agreement to build a state-of-the-art 155mm artillery ammunition factory in Poland.
The project will see BAE transfer its advanced production methods and expertise to PGZ, with construction beginning this year and finalization anticipated between 2027 and 2028.
The facility will mirror BAE’s automated lines in the UK, which have dramatically increased 155mm shell manufacturing. All rounds will meet NATO interoperability standards and work with standard fuzes, primers, and charges.
Capable of producing up to 180,000 shells annually, the new site will bolster Poland’s self-reliance, equipping its fleet of K9 and Krab self-propelled howitzers while reducing dependence on foreign suppliers.
