American Rheinmetall has been granted a $31-million, 18-month contract by the National Center for Manufacturing Sciences to develop next-generation repair solutions for battle-damaged Bradley IFVs deployed by US and Ukrainian troops.
The company will design and demonstrate advanced assessment and repair procedures, enabling rapid, forward-area maintenance capabilities.
At the heart of the project is the creation of a Rapid Damage Assessment and Repair Team, supported by cutting-edge diagnostic tools and an agile logistics chain, with the Bradley vehicle serving as a test platform.
The initiative aims to minimize delays between field damage and full depot maintenance, maintaining combat strength in dynamic operational environments.
Once completed, the concept will establish a scalable forward-repair model suited for austere and contested areas, increasing equipment uptime and operational resilience.
