Virginia-based NAL Research has partnered with Norwegian companies Tschudi Shipping and SGM Technology to develop a maritime navigation solution designed to keep vessels operational in GPS-denied or spoofed environments.
The system, called PntGuard, is a plug-and-play navigation support tool that immediately alerts ship crews when their vessel’s GPS position has been compromised.
PntGuard consists of two core components — a receiver linked to a Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) service and a bridge display that presents both the falsified GPS data and the vessel’s accurate, real-time position.
