The U.S. Navy and Republic of Korea Navy (ROKN) wrapped up the Korean Spring Exercise on April 16, 2025. Held from April 7 to 16 off South Korea’s southeastern coast, the annual training focused on enhancing joint mine countermeasure capabilities. Over the 10-day period, both navies collaborated to navigate and clear a simulated minefield, utilizing detection, hunting, and neutralization techniques—including the underwater detonation of a mock mine. Commanders from ROKN Mine Squadron 52 and U.S. Navy’s MCMRON 7 led coordinated efforts to strengthen interoperability and bilateral communication.
