The US Army has selected Elbit Systems America under a $49.9 million deal to deliver advanced heads-up displays for its UH-60 Black Hawk and CH-47 Chinook helicopter fleets.
The Air Warrior HUD uses a color display to overlay key flight and mission data within the pilot’s line of sight, enabling heads-up operations and reducing reliance on cockpit instruments.
As part of the broader Air Soldier System initiative, the technology enhances operational awareness and crew protection while replacing legacy Air Warrior gear deployed since 2004.
The agreement runs until December 2030 and covers lifecycle and support services.
