Destinus Group BV has finalized the acquisition of Daedalean AG, a Zürich-based pioneer in advanced artificial intelligence systems for aviation, in a deal valued at CHF 180 million (approximately USD 225 million). Following the transaction, Daedalean will operate within Destinus as a central hub for AI engineering, autonomy research, and advanced perception technologies.

Daedalean’s workforce and technology base will continue to support the development of AI solutions for civilian aviation, including safety-critical autonomous functions, pilot assistance systems, and next-generation navigation and perception capabilities. Integration into Destinus is also expected to significantly accelerate the rollout of defense-oriented AI applications, spanning GNSS-denied navigation for contested environments, advanced perception and seeker technologies for interceptors, cruise missiles, and loitering munitions, as well as autonomous mission planning and decision-making for high-speed defense platforms.

In addition, the combined capabilities will enable progress in swarming and multi-agent coordination for large-scale unmanned system deployments, alongside advanced sensor fusion paired with onboard AI reasoning to enhance survivability and operational resilience in complex battlefield conditions.

The acquisition strengthens Destinus’ capacity to deliver sovereign European AI solutions across its autonomous systems portfolio, reinforcing its vertically integrated, industrial-scale defense production model while simultaneously supporting national defense requirements and the long-term evolution of civil aviation technologies.
