Hanwha Defense USA (HDUSA) and Texas-based UNION Technologies have established a strategic partnership to expand manufacturing capacity for 155-millimeter munitions in the United States.
The companies stated that the collaboration is intended to reinforce the US defense industrial base and create more resilient supply chains capable of supporting increased ammunition production for the American military and allied forces.
Under the initial phase of the agreement, the partners will focus on producing 155-mm artillery shell metal components used in artillery systems. A joint working group will oversee technical integration, quality control, and near-term production planning.
HDUSA, a subsidiary of the South Korea–based Hanwha Group, brings expertise in defense manufacturing, including artillery systems, advanced components, and energetics. Meanwhile, Dallas-based UNION specializes in automated, software-defined factory solutions designed to scale production while ensuring traceability and consistent manufacturing quality.
