Sikorsky, a subsidiary of Lockheed Martin, has converted the classic UH-60L Black Hawk into the S-70UAS U-Hawk, a next-generation autonomous aircraft aimed at expanding the utility helicopter’s operational roles.

Completed within 10 months of development, the U-Hawk delivers a 25% increase in interior volume, replacing the pilot cockpit with automated clamshell doors and a loading ramp for rapid handling of oversized cargo.

Combining MATRIX autonomy technology with Sikorsky’s advanced fly-by-wire flight control system, the U-Hawk enables fully autonomous operations—supporting unmanned logistics, aerial drone deployment, and extended-range missions.
