Kazakhstan Creates Defense AI Unit Under Ministry of Defense
The Kazakh Ministry of Defense has established a dedicated AI unit to advance the nation’s move into artificial intelligence-based defense operations.
Tasked with leading the armed forces’ digital evolution, the unit will focus on developing and implementing AI applications across a range of missions.
The initiative stems from President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s call to fast-track military digitization using AI, a plan formally confirmed by Deputy Defense Minister Darkhan Akhmediev.
