The MQ-9B drone is set to receive a significant upgrade with the integration of Ultra Intelligence & Communications’ Knox-5 processor, enhancing artificial intelligence and edge-based data processing capabilities.

Under a new contract with the US Marine Corps, the company will supply nine Knox-5 units to strengthen the platform’s ability to analyze and exploit data directly onboard, reducing dependence on external processing resources.

Designed around an open architecture compliant with the Sensor Open Systems Architecture (SOSA) standard, the Knox-5 can seamlessly interface with a broad range of sensors and mission systems.
