US Military Awards $180M to Northrop Grumman for Next-Gen Mission Planning Systems
Northrop Grumman has been awarded a $180 million contract to develop advanced mission planning technologies for the US Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps. The systems will enable smarter, faster operational planning through the use of automation and real-time data analysis.
Under the contract, the Air Force will receive the largest portion—$115 million—to fund a next-generation global strike planning system managed by the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center. This platform is designed to provide real-time updates on threats and situational awareness, significantly enhancing planning and responsiveness during missions.
The project reflects a broader push by the Pentagon to integrate multi-domain operations, leveraging cutting-edge digital tools to improve risk assessment, route planning, and real-time threat adaptation.
