South Korea’s Air Force has acquired its first AI-based tactical development and flight simulator that applies reinforcement learning (RL) technology.
The RL-driven system improves itself by experimenting, gaining “rewards” for effective outcomes, and progressively identifying the best tactics to meet user objectives.
Created by Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI), the trainer employs a virtual aircraft supported by real operational data, allowing autonomous strategy development without direct human guidance.
