Aventra raised $3 million to develop technology that transforms dumb munitions into AI-enabled precision weapons capable of striking targets as far as 3,000 miles (4,800 km).
The company in Virginia is creating a modular retrofit — the Piranha glide kit — which attaches wings and guidance hardware to legacy ordnance to provide low-cost long-range strike ability.
Launched from balloons around 80,000 feet (24,000 meters), the kit leverages stratospheric wind currents to push its reach far beyond conventional ranges.
