The US Navy has selected General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) for a $988 million contract to modernize its digital networks connecting ships, aircraft, and shore operations.

The award falls under the Ship and Air C5ISR Systems Support program, covering a one-year base period, four additional one-year options, and a six-month extension.

GDIT will be responsible for upgrading, integrating, and maintaining C5ISR systems on all surface combatants, including guided missile ships, aircraft carriers, Coast Guard vessels, as well as manned and unmanned aircraft and shore installations. The scope includes engineering, procurement, logistics, and onboard installation to ensure fleet readiness.

This contract builds on a series of recent fleet modernization efforts. In April 2024, Lockheed Martin was chosen to provide advanced micro-electronics for MH-60R Seahawks to enhance threat detection. In October 2024, Leidos received $248 million for unmanned and automated systems support for Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific. In October 2025, Kratos Defense & Security Solutions began Phase 1 of its sustainment program for AN/SPY-1 radar systems used on Aegis-equipped cruisers and destroyers.
