Washington has approved a potential Baseline 2 upgrade for Australia’s MC-55A Peregrine ISREW aircraft, advancing a Foreign Military Sale worth an estimated $404 million.

Australia’s request includes a package of hardware and services to sustain the fleet, such as upgrades, spare parts, technical assistance, logistics support, and other related components.

The sale, which still requires US congressional approval, aims to strengthen Australia’s MC-55A maintenance capabilities and improve its ability to conduct advanced air operations, according to the Defense Security Cooperation Agency. The upgrade would also enhance interoperability with US forces in the Indo-Pacific.

L3Harris Technologies, headquartered in Texas, has been selected as the principal contractor. No offset agreements are proposed under the deal.
