An undisclosed international customer has awarded Elbit Systems a $277 million contract for the supply of UT30 MK2 remote weapon turrets and accompanying munitions. The Israeli defense company stated that deliveries will span three years.
The deal follows a previous order from General Dynamics European Land Systems, which chose the UT30 MK2 for ASCOD armored vehicles destined for a NATO country. Romania also procured the turret in 2023 for integration on its Piranha V fleet.
Designed with a flexible open architecture, the UT30 MK2 can be configured for either crewed or remote operation. It is equipped with a 30mm Mk44 Bushmaster II autocannon, a coaxial 7.62mm machine gun, and anti-tank missile capability, supported by advanced sighting systems and Level 4 ballistic protection under NATO standards.
