The Norwegian Defence Materiel Agency has signed a 1-billion-krone ($99 million) deal with Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace to deliver new components for the NASAMS air defense system, boosting overall efficiency and protection.

The package includes command centers, wheeled communication hubs, and modernized radio units that will seamlessly integrate with the four NASAMS batteries introduced since 2024, featuring next-generation launchers and upgraded missile technologies.

The upgrade will replace the existing Multi Role Radio with Kongsberg’s THOR Combat Net Radio, offering increased bandwidth, reliability, and functional range.

Together, these new systems will enhance Norway’s command responsiveness, operational speed, and air defense survivability.
