Indian company InsideFPV has fulfilled a ₹100 million ($1.2 million) contract for the Ministry of Defence, delivering hundreds of kamikaze drone systems within a rapid 60-day timeline. The order was placed under the Emergency Procurement Route, a mechanism designed to accelerate acquisitions for urgent operational requirements.

The drones are engineered to operate across diverse environments, including high-altitude regions, deserts, and mixed terrain. They are capable of functioning in temperatures ranging from -35°C to 50°C and can operate effectively in GPS-denied conditions.

According to the company, the contract highlights a broader trend observed in recent conflicts, where loitering munitions are increasingly used for short-range precision strikes and real-time battlefield reconnaissance.

The delivery aligns with India’s continued emphasis on strengthening domestic defense manufacturing, particularly in unmanned systems that can be produced at scale and deployed quickly. To support this demand, InsideFPV is expanding its production capacity, including relocating to a larger 20,000-square-foot facility to enhance output and reduce delivery timelines.

The company is also advancing new capabilities, including interceptor drones, swarm-enabled systems, and navigation technologies tailored for contested and signal-denied environments. These developments are consistent with the Indian Army’s recently released technology roadmap, which outlines future requirements for unmanned aerial systems and loitering munitions, aiming to better align operational needs with innovation while encouraging broader participation from industry, startups, and academia.
