Spanish companies EM&E Group and Indra Group, along with Belgium-based Intersoft Electronics Services, have entered into a partnership to promote counter-unmanned aerial system (C-UAS) solutions in the Belgium defense market.

The collaboration was unveiled at the Brussels European Defense Exhibition & Conference. Under the agreement, EM&E Group will supply electro-optical sensors and remotely operated weapon stations, while Indra will provide radar systems and command-and-control infrastructure to manage operations. Intersoft Electronics Services will handle system integration and support commercialization efforts within Belgium.

The combined solution will offer capabilities for detecting, identifying, tracking, and potentially neutralizing drones across a variety of operational environments. The companies highlighted that the initiative reinforces European defense autonomy by leveraging EU-developed technologies, reducing reliance on external suppliers, and enhancing airspace security against rising drone threats.

This development comes amid broader efforts across Europe to strengthen counter-drone defenses, particularly along the bloc’s eastern flank. In February, Poland awarded a $1.65-billion contract to Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace and Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa for new C-UAS capabilities, including 18 batteries built around Kongsberg’s Protector remote weapon station.

Earlier, Spain deployed its Crow C-UAS system to Lithuania, where it is currently positioned at Šiauliai Air Base. The deployment supports drone detection and neutralization efforts as part of NATO’s 70th Air Policing Mission.
