General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) has been awarded a $1.25-billion U.S. Army task order to deliver IT, communications, and mission command services across Europe and Africa.

The company will update network infrastructure, expand mission partner connectivity, and strengthen cybersecurity defenses. Emerging technologies such as AI, machine learning, cloud platforms, and advanced data analytics will play a central role in the modernization effort.

The agreement starts with a five-month transition base period and could run for up to seven option years. It will provide direct support to U.S. Army Europe and Africa headquarters, subordinate commands, NATO, and allied forces.

Through this work, GDIT will help establish a digital foundation enabling seamless communications across multiple networks and remote locations, critical for fast-paced, joint operations.

The contract follows other major U.S. military network modernization initiatives. Recently, the Air Force signed a $5.7-billion contract with Leidos to expand its Advanced Battle Management System, while ongoing Mission Partner Environment projects continue to improve NATO’s secure data-sharing capabilities.
