Indra Group and ELT Group have entered into a strategic framework agreement aimed at deepening cooperation in multi-domain defense technologies, underscoring a wider effort to strengthen European technological sovereignty.

Through the partnership, the Spanish defense integrator and the Italian electromagnetic spectrum specialist will collaborate across land, space, and uncrewed aerial vehicle domains. The framework enables the joint development of integrated systems that merge Indra’s strengths in systems integration, radar, electronic warfare, and cyber defense with ELT’s capabilities in Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations, including signals intelligence and spectrum monitoring.

Control and protection of the electromagnetic spectrum are increasingly critical to modern military effectiveness. By aligning their expertise, the two companies aim to deliver interoperable, sovereign solutions that enhance Europe’s operational edge against evolving threats.

Indra’s Expanding Defense Partnerships

In recent years, Indra has accelerated its industrial alliances to widen its defense footprint. In February 2025, it signed a memorandum of understanding with Katim to jointly promote advanced encrypted mobile communications solutions for NATO and allied government clients.

A month later, Indra renewed its collaboration with Rheinmetall Electronics to upgrade the combat system of the Leopard 2E, enhancing fire control and command-and-control technologies for Spanish and NATO operators.

Most recently, in November 2025, Indra and EDGE Group revealed plans to establish a joint venture in Spain to develop and produce advanced systems, including loitering munitions and smart weapons, for European and global defense programs—building on earlier cooperation in radar and air defense technologies.
