The US Naval Air Systems Command has selected KBR for a $117-million contract providing long-term support to foreign operators of the F/A-18 and EA-18G aircraft. The deal includes comprehensive sustainment, engineering services, and logistics support to ensure partner nations such as Australia, Finland, and Switzerland maintain their fleets at high readiness. KBR will also deliver administrative functions including lifecycle management, financial oversight, program coordination, and COMSEC services. Work will be performed partly in the US and partly within partner countries, with full execution spanning five years. The F/A-18 family—together with the EA-18G Growler—remains one of the world’s most widely deployed combat aircraft lines, with more than 2,000 units delivered since the late 1970s. As of 2025, fewer than half of these remain active across operators including the US, Australia, Finland, Switzerland, Canada, Spain, Kuwait, and Malaysia, highlighting the ongoing need for sustainment support.
