European defense firm KNDS and Israel’s Elbit Systems Land have entered into a joint venture to promote the EuroPULS rocket artillery system across European markets. The new entity, EuroPULS GmbH, will operate under a 50:50 partnership, combining Elbit’s PULS (Precise and Universal Launcher System) with KNDS’ advanced fire control technologies and established customer network in Europe. Headquartered in Kassel, Germany, the venture is positioned to meet growing regional demand for a non-HIMARS solution, driven by delays in US deliveries and the prioritization of supplies to Ukraine amid its conflict with Russia.
EuroPULS is a truck-mounted, wheeled multiple rocket launcher capable of firing precision-guided munitions at ranges of up to 300 kilometers. Based on Elbit’s proven PULS platform, the system has been adapted for European requirements with localized production following a 2023 teaming agreement between the two companies. It supports a diverse range of munitions, including Accular 122mm and 160mm rockets, EXTRA rockets, and Predator Hawk missiles. Germany and the Netherlands have already placed orders, while other nations such as Estonia and Norway are also exploring alternatives like South Korea’s K239 Chunmoo system from Hanwha Aerospace to complement or substitute US-made HIMARS.
