KNDS France has secured contracts to deliver 269 armored vehicles to Belgium and Luxembourg as part of the Capacité Motorisée (CaMo) program.
CaMo is a joint French-Belgian initiative designed to enhance force interoperability and standardization, while also reinforcing France’s SCORPION modernization effort for ground combat systems.
Belgium Orders Griffon and Serval
Under the agreement, Belgium will acquire 92 Griffon armored personnel carriers and 123 Serval light multirole vehicles. The contract was placed by France’s defense procurement agency on behalf of the Belgian Ministry of Defence.
Both platforms are part of the SCORPION ecosystem, to which Belgium will gain full access, enabling closer operational integration with NATO allies. KNDS noted the acquisition strengthens Belgium’s ability to conduct combined operations in support of alliance commitments.
Luxembourg Procures Griffon and Jaguar
Luxembourg’s procurement will be executed through Belgium’s CaMo framework, with backing from the NATO Defence Planning Process.
The order includes 16 Griffon vehicles and 38 Jaguar reconnaissance platforms, all destined for the future Guide-Chasseurs Battalion, a joint Belgian-Luxembourg medium reconnaissance unit expected to reach full operational capability by 2030.
Shared Industrial Production
KNDS stated that Griffon and Jaguar vehicles will be produced in partnership with Arquus and Thales, while the Serval will be manufactured alongside Texelis.
Most vehicles will be assembled at MOL CY’s facility in Staden, Belgium, and equipped with FN Herstal remote weapon stations, with Serval production featuring increased Belgian industrial participation. The contracts also include spare parts and maintenance support to ensure fleet availability.
